Minor Girl Abducted, Raped in Jajpur; Accused Arrested
A shocking incident has come to light where a 17‑year‑old girl from Bhubaneswar’s Infocity area was allegedly abducted and raped.
The accused, identified as Niranjan Mallik of Brahmabarada in Jajpur district, befriended the minor through social media and lured her with a false promise of marriage.
According to police, Mallik took the girl first to Bhubaneswar, then Cuttack, and finally to Jajpur, where the assault occurred.
Following a complaint lodged by the victim’s family, Infocity police, with assistance from Brahmabarada police, rescued the girl and arrested the accused.
Authorities have registered a case and initiated legal proceedings.
The incident has sparked concern over the growing misuse of social media platforms to exploit minors.
