Minor Girl Abducted, Gang‑Raped in Rairangpur; Probe Launched

Rairangpur (Mayurbhanj): A shocking crime has rocked Rairangpur town after a 13‑year‑old minor girl was abducted and gang‑raped by four youths on Sunday afternoon.

According to police, the victim and her elder sister had gone to a nearby river around 2 PM when the accused, reportedly intoxicated, forced the younger girl into a car.

She was taken to an isolated location where the four men allegedly raped her one after another for nearly three hours.

At around 10 PM, the girl was abandoned unconscious near her residence. Family members rushed her to Rairangpur Hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment.

After regaining consciousness, the survivor narrated her ordeal to police, leading to the registration of a case at Rairangpur Police Station.

Authorities have launched an intensive investigation, though no arrests have been made so far.

The incident has sparked outrage in the local community, with demands for swift justice and stronger measures to ensure women’s safety in the region.
