Jharsuguda: Fire at Trilochan Netralaya Destroys Lab Equipment, Patients Safe

Jharsuguda witnessed a tense moment on Wednesday when a sudden fire broke out at Trilochan Netralaya in Beheramal, reportedly triggered by a short circuit in the laboratory.

The blaze quickly engulfed lab equipment, furniture, papers, cables, and several medical instruments, causing significant damage.

Fortunately, firefighters arrived promptly after staff raised the alarm and managed to extinguish the flames before they spread to patient areas.

Authorities confirmed that no patients or visitors were harmed during the incident.

However, Jharsuguda Fire Officer Arun Toppo stated that the absence of adequate fire safety measures worsened the situation, leading to the destruction of multiple machines.

Officials have announced that a notice will be issued to the hospital management for failing to maintain proper safety standards.

The incident has sparked wider concerns about fire preparedness in healthcare facilities, underscoring the urgent need for regular inspections, proper wiring, and installation of fire alarms to prevent similar accidents.

Trilochan Netralaya now faces scrutiny over its responsibility toward patient safety and compliance with fire safety norms.
