India’s Transformation in 12 Years: Welfare Schemes, Infrastructure Expansion and Digital Revolution – Historic Achievements of Modi Government
Kendujhar: Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the central government has completed 12 years in office.
Senior BJP leader Dr Murli Manohar Sharma stated that the period from 2014 to 2026 has been historic for India, marked by sweeping economic reforms, digital transformation, infrastructure growth, social security expansion, and strengthened global leadership.
Dr Sharma highlighted that the introduction of GST established a unified tax system across the nation, while the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code reinforced banking stability.
Record growth in FDI boosted manufacturing, and initiatives like Digital India and UPI positioned India as a global leader in digital payments, ensuring transparency in governance through online platforms.
Through the Jan Dhan–Aadhaar–Mobile network, millions were brought into the banking system, with benefits reaching citizens directly via DBT.
National highways, railways, airports, and metro networks expanded significantly, while Vande Bharat trains and the PM Gati Shakti plan gained prominence.
Schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana provided housing to millions, Swachh Bharat Mission advanced sanitation goals, Ujjwala Yojana delivered LPG connections to women, and Jal Jeevan Mission ensured piped water supply to rural households.
Farmers received direct financial assistance under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, alongside new agricultural infrastructure programs.
Women’s empowerment saw landmark decisions such as the ban on triple talaq, passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill, and initiatives like Lakhpati Didi that strengthened economic independence.
On national security, the abrogation of Article 370 was termed historic, while surgical strikes and the Balakot airstrike reflected India’s firm stance.
Defence infrastructure in border regions was also expanded.
Healthcare access improved through Ayushman Bharat, offering insurance to poor families, while the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana ensured free food distribution.
Startup India encouraged entrepreneurship and innovation-driven industries.
India’s successful hosting of the G20 Summit reinforced its global role and amplified the voice of the Global South.
According to the BJP, these 12 years prioritised welfare governance, infrastructure development, digital transformation, women’s empowerment, and national security — laying a strong foundation for building a “Developed India.”
