CM Majhi Calls Yoga “India’s Invaluable Asset” on International Yoga Day
Bhubaneswar, June 21: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi extended greetings to the people on the occasion of International Yoga Day 2026, describing yoga as “India’s invaluable asset” and a timeless tradition of human welfare.
Majhi highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s role in popularising yoga worldwide, noting that the practice has become a global symbol of India’s cultural heritage.
This year’s theme, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” was emphasised by the Chief Minister as particularly relevant in today’s fast‑paced lifestyle.
He underlined yoga’s benefits in improving flexibility, balance, immunity, and mental well‑being, while reducing stress and fostering positivity.
Calling upon citizens to participate in mass yoga practice programs across Odisha, Majhi urged people to adopt yoga as an integral part of daily life.
He envisioned a healthier, empowered, and prosperous Odisha through widespread acceptance of yoga.
