India Slip to No.2 in ICC T20I Rankings as England Reclaim Top Spot
India’s dominant 3-0 series win over Afghanistan was not enough to keep them at the summit of the ICC T20I rankings. England, led by Harry Brook, swept Sri Lanka 3-0 and reclaimed the No.1 position.
Both teams now share 269 rating points, but England’s fewer matches (41 compared to India’s 64) give them the edge.
Brook’s captaincy has been remarkable, with England winning 23 of their last 26 T20Is.
He was also named Player of the Series against Sri Lanka after scoring a century in the opener.
India, under Shreyas Iyer, had a shaky start with losses to Ireland and England but bounced back strongly with consecutive 3-0 victories over Zimbabwe and Afghanistan.
The team now shifts focus to defending their gold medal at the upcoming Asian Games, aiming to carry forward their winning momentum.
