Odisha Vigilance Nabs ICDS Supervisor, JRA in ₹30,000 Bribe Case from Anganwadi Worker
Odisha Vigilance officials on Saturday apprehended two government employees in Hinjilicut, Ganjam district, while accepting a bribe of ₹30,000 from an Anganwadi worker.
The accused, B. Uma Patro (ICDS Supervisor) and Narasingha Behera (Junior Revenue Assistant), had allegedly demanded the money to release pending house rent for the Anganwadi Centre, which had been delayed for 11 months.
Acting on a complaint, Vigilance sleuths laid a trap and caught the duo red‑handed inside the CDPO office.
The entire bribe amount was recovered and seized. Simultaneous searches are underway at their residences to detect disproportionate assets.
A case has been registered at Berhampur Vigilance Police Station under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. Further investigation is in progress.
