Gold Prices Surge on Akshaya Tritiya, Silver Remains Stable
Bhubaneswar, April 20: On the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, gold prices witnessed a sharp rise across India.
Rates for 24K gold climbed by ₹490 to ₹1,55,290 per 10g, while 22K gold rose by ₹450 to ₹1,42,350 per 10g. Similarly, 18K gold increased by ₹370 to ₹1,16,470 per 10g.
In contrast, silver prices remained unchanged at ₹2,80,000 per kg, offering stability amid the festive surge.
Jewellers reported brisk sales as buying gold on Akshaya Tritiya is considered auspicious. Many offered discounts and promotional schemes to attract customers.
Analysts attributed the hike not only to festive demand but also to global market trends, dollar fluctuations, and economic uncertainty.
This blend of traditional belief and market dynamics underscores how Akshaya Tritiya continues to drive gold demand in India.
