Eid-ul-Zuha Unites Odisha in Prayer and Festivity

Bhubaneswar/Cuttack: Thousands of devotees across Odisha gathered at mosques and prayer grounds on Thursday to mark Eid-ul-Zuha (Bakrid) with devotion, sacrifice, and community spirit.

Men, women, and children dressed in traditional attire offered prayers at major mosques in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and other towns before greeting one another and sharing festive meals.

Mosque committees arranged facilities such as drinking water and shaded areas to accommodate the large crowds.

The festival, symbolising sacrifice and faith, was observed with charity, family gatherings, and communal harmony.

Authorities emphasised responsible celebrations and urged citizens to uphold peace.

To ensure smooth conduct, police and local administration deployed armed personnel at sensitive locations.

Flag marches were conducted in Cuttack, while patrolling and surveillance were intensified in Bhubaneswar.
