Bhadrak Doctor’s Final Gift: Organ Donation Inspires Odisha

Bhadrak, Odisha – In a remarkable act of compassion, Dr Radha Padhi, a 39‑year‑old government homoeopathic doctor from Bhadrak district, has left behind a legacy of selflessness through organ donation.

Despite battling a platelet disorder since childhood, she continued serving patients at Sabarang Aroda in Bhadrak block for three years.

On March 28, she was admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where she passed away on April 3. Before her death, Dr Padhi chose to donate her liver, saving lives and inspiring countless others.

Her humanitarian spirit was evident even earlier, as she had donated her hair twice to support cancer patients.

Her funeral in Sahadevadas Patana village was marked by a Guard of Honour from Bhadrak Police, a rare tribute that underscored the respect she earned in life and death.

Dr Padhi’s story is being hailed as a beacon of hope, urging society to embrace organ donation and selfless service.
