20 Quintals of Ganja Seized in Gajapati, Worth Over ₹2 Crore
Gajapati, April 14: In a significant crackdown on narcotics trafficking, police in Gajapati district seized 20.1 quintals of ganja valued at over Rs 2 crore.
The contraband was discovered buried underground in trunks and drums near Bhimanpur village forest, under the jurisdiction of R. Udayagiri police station.
Acting on a tip‑off, a team led by the SDPO of R. Udayagiri raided the site and unearthed the stash.
Investigations revealed that mafia groups had concealed the ganja beneath makeshift huts to evade detection.
Authorities confirmed that those involved in the illegal trade will be arrested soon, marking a decisive step against organised drug networks in Odisha.
