Supreme Court Collegium Orders Transfer of Two Orissa Judges
The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the transfer of two judges from the Orissa High Court.
Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak has been proposed for transfer to the Gujarat High Court, while Justice Krushna Ram Mohapatra is recommended for transfer to the Chhattisgarh High Court.
These recommendations, made on August 6, 2026, are part of the Collegium’s ongoing process of reshuffling judges across different jurisdictions to maintain judicial balance.
The transfers, however, are subject to approval by the Central government, which must issue official notifications before they take effect.
This move underscores the Collegium’s role in ensuring impartiality and efficiency within the judiciary, while also highlighting the importance of government concurrence in finalising such decisions.
