Sundargarh Police Seize Ganja Worth ₹15 Lakh on Biju Expressway
Sundargarh: Police in Sundargarh district have seized nearly 1.5 quintals of ganja valued at around Rs 15 lakh from an abandoned vehicle on the Biju Expressway.
According to reports, a Duster SUV carrying the contraband met with an accident near Gangajal under Bargaon police limits and was abandoned along National Highway 10.
Eyewitnesses stated that three to four individuals fled the scene after the crash.
Acting on a tip‑off, police launched a search operation and discovered the ganja concealed inside the vehicle.
The SUV has been confiscated, and a detailed investigation is underway to identify and apprehend those involved in the illegal transportation.
Authorities suspect the consignment was being smuggled through Odisha’s highway network, highlighting ongoing challenges in curbing narcotics trafficking in the region.
