Odisha Bus Fare Hike 2026: New Rates for Ordinary, Express, Deluxe & AC Buses

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has announced a revision in private bus fares across all categories, citing rising fuel prices and maintenance costs.

Under the new structure, ordinary buses will now charge Rs 0.90 per kilometre, up from Rs 0.88. Express buses will cost Rs 0.94 per kilometre, while deluxe buses have been revised to Rs 1.31. AC deluxe buses will charge Rs 1.59 per kilometre, and super premium buses will see fares rise to Rs 2.47 per kilometre.

Officials explained that the fare adjustment was necessary to balance operational sustainability for bus owners while ensuring continued public transport services.

Diesel price hikes and increased spare parts costs were key drivers behind the revision.

For passengers, the hike may appear marginal per kilometre, but frequent travellers and long‑distance commuters—particularly on routes such as Bhubaneswar–Cuttack, Berhampur, and Sambalpur—are expected to feel the impact more significantly.
