Puri Police, Sevayats Unite for Rath Yatra Security
Puri, Odisha: A high‑level coordination meeting was convened in Puri to finalise security and administrative arrangements for the upcoming Rath Yatra.
The session was jointly chaired by Inspector General of Police (Central Range) Dr Satyajit Naik and Superintendent of Police Prateek Singh, with participation from senior law enforcement officials and sevayat representatives.
Key discussions centred on crowd management strategies, strict adherence to ritual timelines, and traffic diversions to ensure smooth chariot movements.
Emergency corridors and communication protocols were emphasised to safeguard devotees and maintain discipline.
Both police and temple servitors reaffirmed their commitment to public safety and the sanctity of the festival.
Officials expressed confidence that the coordinated measures will enable a safe, incident‑free Rath Yatra while preserving its spiritual essence.
