Ananya Awasthi Becomes Odisha’s First Woman ADC
Bhubaneswar: In a historic development, IPS officer Ananya Awasthi has been appointed as the first woman Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to the Governor of Odisha, Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati.
The induction ceremony was held at Lok Bhavan, attended by senior officials of the Governor’s Secretariat.
Awasthi, who previously served as Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), UPD, Cuttack, succeeds IPS officer Kuldeep Meena in the Police ADC role.
She will now assist the Governor alongside Lieutenant Harshit Deo, who continues as the Naval ADC.
The ADCs play a crucial role in supporting the Governor during official engagements, ceremonial functions, and protocol duties.
Awasthi’s appointment marks a significant milestone in Odisha’s administrative history, highlighting the growing representation of women in leadership positions within the police service.
