PM Modi Highlights Odisha’s Suvarnarekha Mango and Bael Pana in Mann Ki Baat
In the 134th episode of Mann Ki Baat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted Odisha’s famed Suvarnarekha mango and the traditional summer drink Bael Pana, calling them cultural treasures that showcase India’s diversity.
He noted that India is home to countless mango varieties such as Hapus, Kesar, Dussehri, Langra, Himsagar, and Banganapalli, each reflecting regional identity and pride.
Modi lauded mango farmers for their role in strengthening the rural economy and boosting exports, while also emphasising the importance of indigenous summer beverages like Aam Panna, lassi, sattu sherbet, kokum sherbet, and Bael Pana.
The recognition of Odisha’s Suvarnarekha mango and Bael Pana has brought joy to farmers and residents, with experts predicting increased demand for these products in both national and international markets.
