Puri Lifeguards Save Two Minors Swept Away by Rip Current

Puri, Odisha: Two minors from Kantabanji in Balangir district had a narrow escape after being swept away by a powerful rip current while bathing near Sector‑4 Puri Hotel beach.

The boys, identified as Ayush Gupta (17) and Ayan Gupta (14), were pulled into deeper waters before lifeguards stationed nearby rushed to their aid.

The trained lifeguards quickly entered the sea, rescued both boys, and administered first aid onshore.

Thanks to their swift response, the minors are now safe and in good health.

This incident highlights the recurring dangers of rip currents along Odisha’s coastline and underscores the importance of vigilance and safety measures for beachgoers.
