Puri Jagannath Temple to Suspend Darshan for Bamana Janma Niti

Public darshan at the revered Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri will remain suspended today from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM to facilitate the observance of Bamana Janma Niti rituals.

The restriction follows the Madhyanha Dhupa (afternoon food offering) and is intended to ensure the smooth conduct of the sacred ceremonies.

The Bamana Janma Niti marks the birth of Lord Vamana, the fifth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

The rituals are performed with elaborate Vedic traditions, similar to the birth celebrations of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna.

At Srimandir, Lord Jagannath is revered as Maha Vishnu, the source of all ten avatars.

Observing his Vamana incarnation holds deep spiritual significance for devotees.

The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has urged devotees and pilgrims to plan accordingly, noting that normal darshan will resume after the conclusion of the rituals late in the evening.
