Pujari Sets May 31 Deadline for Jharsuguda Projects

Jharsuguda, April 25: Revenue & Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari has set a strict May 31 deadline for the completion of all ongoing projects in Jharsuguda Block, while directing officials to begin pending works by May 7.

During a review meeting, Pujari examined initiatives under multiple schemes, including the Western Odisha Development Council, Developed Villages & Developed Odisha, CM’s Special Assistance, CSR projects (NTPC & MCL), and MLA/MP Local Area Development Funds.

Out of 171 projects, 88 have been completed, and 18 are in progress.

The Minister instructed officials to conduct quality inspections of completed works, expedite ongoing projects, and issue show-cause notices to defaulting contractors, with possible cancellation of work orders.

Special emphasis was placed on drinking water projects amid the ongoing heatwave.

Pujari directed the construction of a water tanker in Charbati village under Loisinga panchayat and stressed that government projects must reach people at the grassroots level on time, ensuring benefits for those “standing at the bottom of the queue.”
