President of India Confers Police Colour Award on Odisha Police
The President of India has approved the prestigious Police Colour Award for the Odisha Police, marking a historic milestone for the state’s law enforcement.
The Police Colour is the highest honour bestowed upon any police force in the country, recognising exceptional service, discipline, and achievements in maintaining law and order.
The Ministry of Home Affairs conveyed the decision to the Odisha government after reviewing the proposal submitted by the state police headquarters.
This recognition comes as Odisha Police celebrates its 91st Foundation Day, adding symbolic importance to the announcement.
Over the decades, Odisha Police has demonstrated resilience and modernisation, successfully tackling challenges such as Maoist insurgency, cybercrime, and narcotics control.
Senior officers described the award as a morale booster, inspiring personnel to continue their mission with renewed determination under the motto “Service and Security.”
The ceremonial presentation of the Police Colour will see the Odisha Police flag adorned with the emblem of distinction, cementing its place among India’s most decorated forces.
