Odisha Police Celebrates 91st Foundation Day in Cuttack

Cuttack, April 1: The Odisha Police celebrated its 91st Foundation Day at the Reserve Police Ground in Buxibazar, Cuttack, with Director General of Police Yogesh Bahadur Khurania presiding over the ceremony.

The event featured a ceremonial parade, tributes to martyred personnel, and awards for bravery, service, and welfare initiatives.

In his address, the DGP reaffirmed the force’s commitment to building a safe, peaceful, and drug‑free Odisha under the motto “Service and Security.”

Key achievements highlighted included the neutralisation of 27 Maoist extremists since 2025, the surrender of 72 insurgents through rehabilitation schemes, and major successes in cybercrime investigations under Operation Cyber Kabach, which probed nearly 40,000 suspicious bank accounts.

Anti‑narcotics operations also saw contraband worth over Rs 3,000 crore seized and illegal cultivation destroyed across 48,000 acres.

The Odisha Police further showcased its efficiency in justice delivery under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, resolving cases within 19–40 days, and celebrated its athletes’ medal‑winning performances at national competitions.

Messages from the Governor and Chief Minister praised the force’s resilience and modernisation, underscoring its legacy of service and dedication to public safety.
