PM Modi’s Utkal Divas Letter to Odisha CM Highlights Heritage and Development

On the occasion of Utkal Divas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended greetings to the people of Odisha through a detailed four-page letter addressed to Chief Minister Mohan Majhi.

In his message, Modi celebrated Odisha’s rich cultural legacy, citing landmarks such as the Jagannath Temple, Konark Sun Temple, and Lingaraj Temple as enduring symbols of Odia pride.

The Prime Minister paid tribute to iconic leaders, including Gopabandhu Das, Fakir Mohan Senapati, and Biju Patnaik, describing Biju Babu as an inspirational figure whose contributions continue to resonate.

Modi also reflected on his personal association with Odia communities, recalling his interactions during his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister.

Highlighting Odisha’s progress, Modi praised initiatives like the Subhadra Yojana for women’s empowerment, acknowledged the state’s success in curbing Maoist activities, and noted the record Rs 10,600 crore railway allocation.

He further emphasized Odisha’s emerging role in India’s semiconductor journey and the proposed Rare Earth Corridor.

Concluding his letter, Modi expressed confidence in CM Mohan Majhi’s leadership, stating that Odisha’s blend of cultural heritage and modern development will strengthen Odia identity and position the state as a hub of national pride.
