Over 300 Students and Teachers Stranded in Kendrapada Flood-Hit School
Kendrapada district of Odisha is facing a severe flood crisis as over 300 students and teachers remain stranded at Kulasahi Ashram School.
Rising waters from the Brahmani River have submerged the ground floor of the residential school under nearly 10 feet of water, forcing everyone to take shelter on the first floor.
District officials confirmed that all students and staff are safe.
The school has food stocks and LPG cylinders sufficient for about a week, but strong currents are hampering rescue operations.
Boats have been unable to reach the school due to the intensity of the floodwaters.
Authorities have directed the immediate supply of food, drinking water, and essential relief materials.
Rescue efforts are expected to intensify once water currents subside. Meanwhile, anxious parents await the safe evacuation of their children, as prolonged isolation continues to raise concerns.
