Odisha Vigilance Raids AEE Baikuntha Nath Behera Over Disproportionate Assets Allegations
Bhubaneswar, June 6: Odisha Vigilance has launched simultaneous searches at nine locations linked to Baikuntha Nath Behera, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of ITDA Baliguda, Kandhamal district, following allegations of possessing disproportionate assets.
The operation, carried out under warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar, was led by two Additional SPs, five DSPs, six Inspectors, and supporting staff.
Searches covered Bhubaneswar, Baliguda, Dharmasala (Jajpur district), and Baripada (Mayurbhanj district).
Properties under scrutiny include multiple residential buildings in Bhubaneswar’s Chandrasekharpur, Sailashree Vihar, and Patia areas, ancestral land at Pandua near Dharmasala College, and residences of relatives in Baripada and Pandua.
Behera’s office chamber at ITDA Baliguda and his official government residence were also searched.
Investigators are examining property documents, financial records, bank details, and other materials to determine whether Behera amassed assets beyond his known sources of income.
