Malkangiri Police Seize Three Quintals of Ganja in Forest Raid

In a major crackdown on illegal narcotics, Mathili police seized three quintals of ganja hidden inside Ghanch forest under Madakapadar panchayat in Khairput block of Malkangiri district.

Acting on a tip‑off, the raid was conducted at around 5 a.m. on Saturday in the presence of Khairput block additional tehsildar Braja Bihari Pradhan. Police officials, including SI Manaranjan Pradhan and SI Padman Pujari, led the operation.

Authorities suspect the contraband was stored by ganja mafias for later transport.

Following the seizure, police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend those involved in the smuggling racket.

The bust highlights ongoing efforts by law enforcement to curb the spread of illegal narcotics in the region.
