Odisha to Begin Special Intensive Voter List Revision from May 30

Bhubaneswar: The Election Commission of India has announced a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls in Odisha, scheduled from May 30 to June 28, 2026.

ooth Level Officers (BLOs) will conduct door‑to‑door verification, distributing two pre‑printed enumeration forms — one to be submitted and the other retained as acknowledgement.

Citizens can also download and upload forms digitally via the Election Commission portal.

The draft voter list will be published on July 5, with claims and objections accepted until August 4.

These will be resolved by September 2, and the final voter list will be released on September 6.

The revision covers 3.16 crore voters, with BLOs identifying 17% logical errors to be corrected.

A total of 45,255 BLOs will be deployed across the state, supported by over 33,000 Booth Level Agents appointed by political parties.

To ensure safety amid rising temperatures, BLOs have been instructed to work during cooler hours (6–11 AM and 4–7 PM).

Police and election officers will provide assistance where required.

The exercise aims to enhance transparency, accuracy, and active participation of political parties in the electoral process.
