Odisha Launches IT Skill Training for PACS & LAMPCS Officials

Odisha has taken a pioneering step in modernising its cooperative institutions by launching the OS‑CIT IT skill training programme for officials of Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS) and Large Area Multipurpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPCS).

A total of 5,422 officials from 2,711 PACS/LAMPCS will undergo training, with two representatives from each institution enrolled.

The initiative is being implemented by Odisha Knowledge Corporation Limited (OKCL) in collaboration with the Cooperation Department, across 540 authorised learning centres statewide.

The curriculum covers basic computer literacy, digital processes, and IT tools, with a dedicated module on National Level PACS Software (NLPS) ERP, preparing officials for ERP‑based digital transformation.

Launching the programme, Minister Pradeep Bal Samant emphasised that the initiative will enhance transparency, efficiency, and empowerment in cooperatives, ultimately benefiting farmers.

Senior officials including Rajesh Prabhakar Patil (Commissioner‑cum‑Secretary), Manish Agarwal (Registrar), Bhaktabandhu Sahu (Additional Registrar), and Dr Manoranjan Puthal (MD, OKCL) were present at the event.

This marks the first large‑scale digital skill enhancement programme for cooperative officials in India, positioning Odisha as a model for replication nationwide.
