Odisha Health Minister Calls OMSA for Talks to End Strike
Bhubaneswar: In a bid to resolve the ongoing statewide doctors’ strike, Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling has invited the Odisha Medical Services Association (OMSA) for a meeting on July 4, 2026, at 11:30 AM at his office.
The Health & Family Welfare Department issued an official letter on July 3, signed by the Additional Secretary, urging OMSA leaders — Dr Kishore Chandra Mishra (President) and Dr Sanjib Kumar Pradhan (General Secretary) — to attend the talks.
OMSA had launched an indefinite strike earlier this week, pressing for the fulfilment of a 10‑point charter of demands.
The strike has severely disrupted medical services across several districts, prompting urgent government intervention.
The upcoming meeting is seen as a crucial step toward restoring normal healthcare services and addressing the concerns of doctors across Odisha.
