Odisha Govt Allocates Rs. 1.08 Crore for Sital Sasthi Festival
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has sanctioned Rs. 1.08 crore to support the grand celebration of Sital Sasthi in Sambalpur district.
Acting on the directive of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the Culture Department will distribute funds among 21 festival committees to ensure the smooth conduct of rituals, processions, and cultural programs.
Culture Minister Suryabanshi Suraj welcomed the move, describing Sital Sasthi as a vibrant symbol of Odisha’s cultural heritage and spiritual ethos.
He emphasised that the financial assistance will help enhance the grandeur of the festival and strengthen Odisha’s cultural identity at both national and global levels.
The announcement has been warmly received in Sambalpur, where Sital Sasthi is regarded as one of the most significant cultural festivals, drawing thousands of devotees and tourists each year.
