Matiapada ROB Project in Puri to Be Completed Before Rath Yatra, Says Works Secretary
Puri: Principal Secretary of the Works Department, Sanjay Kumar Singh, inspected the progress of the Matiapada Road Over Bridge (ROB) project ahead of the annual Rath Yatra in July.
During his visit, Singh reviewed pending works, including the bow‑string girder launch and deck slab casting.
He directed the executing agency to accelerate construction, ensure safety and quality standards, and deploy adequate manpower and machinery.
The EPC agency assured completion of the girder launch by June 15, 2026 and deck slab casting by June 20, 2026.
Officials from National Highways, R&B, and EPC Chairman Subash Agrawal joined the review.
Once completed, the ROB is expected to ease traffic congestion, reduce travel time, and improve connectivity in Puri, especially during the car festival.
