Odisha Cracks Down on LPG Black Marketing, Seizes 8,368 Cylinders
In a sweeping enforcement drive, the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department of Odisha has intensified its crackdown on LPG black marketing across the state.
Officials conducted inspections at 3,809 locations, uncovering widespread illegal stockpiling of cylinders.
The operation led to the seizure of 8,368 LPG cylinders, registration of 46 FIRs, and initiation of 495 cases under the Essential Commodities Act.
Authorities confirmed that nine individuals have been arrested for unlawful storage.
The department emphasised that the campaign aims to ensure uninterrupted LPG supply for genuine consumers while curbing profiteering practices.
Citizens have been urged to report suspicious hoarding to help maintain fair distribution.
