Odisha CM to Launch Sambandha Cooperative Membership Drive on September 25
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will launch the Sambandha membership campaign on September 25, aiming to enrol one member from every rural household across Odisha.
The initiative introduces a digital mobile app for simplified registration, ensuring transparency and reducing paperwork.
The campaign also focuses on reviving the Badamba Cooperative Sugar Mill and strengthening the Asika Cooperative Sugar Mill, with incentives for sugarcane growers.
For the first time, farmer-members of PACS and LAMPCS will receive dividends, marking a shift from cooperatives as mere credit providers to profit-sharing institutions.
The package includes new milk collection centres, Krushi Seva Kendras, consumer centres, and Jan Seva Kendras at the village level.
PACS computerisation under the National Level PACS Computerisation Software (NLPS) will also be rolled out to improve accountability.
Additionally, foundation stones will be laid for Model Mandis and projects under the World’s Largest Grain Storage Plan, while appointment letters will be distributed to newly selected Cooperative Inspectors and OSWC candidates.
This comprehensive drive links membership expansion, sugarcane revival, dividends, digital registration, and rural service centres, aiming to strengthen Odisha’s cooperative network for farm credit, produce handling, and rural services.
