Odisha CM Mohan Majhi Begins Two-Day Delhi Visit, Focuses on Clean Energy and Flood Relief
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has embarked on a two-day official visit to New Delhi with a dual agenda of advancing the state’s renewable energy ambitions and seeking Central assistance for flood-affected regions.
During the visit, the Chief Minister will participate in the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit, a key platform bringing together policymakers, industry leaders, and energy experts to discuss India’s clean energy transition and sustainable development strategies.
Accompanying the Chief Minister is Odisha Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo.
The state government is expected to leverage the summit to showcase Odisha’s commitment to green energy and attract investments in renewable power infrastructure.
The discussions are expected to focus on expanding clean energy capacity, strengthening power infrastructure, and integrating advanced technologies into Odisha’s energy ecosystem.
The visit underscores the state’s efforts to position itself as a major player in India’s renewable energy sector.
Apart from energy-related engagements, flood management remains a key priority during the Delhi visit.
The Chief Minister is scheduled to hold meetings with Central leaders to review the flood situation in affected districts and present a damage assessment report.
The Odisha government is also expected to seek financial and logistical support from the Centre to strengthen relief, rehabilitation, and recovery measures in flood-hit areas.
The visit is seen as a significant step in balancing Odisha’s long-term sustainable development goals with immediate disaster management needs, reflecting the government’s focus on economic growth, energy security, and public welfare.
