Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi Hands Over 1,101 Appointment Letters at 17th Nijukti Mela
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi distributed 1,101 appointment letters to newly recruited officers during the 17th Nijukti Mela at OUAT, Bhubaneswar.
Since the government assumed office, 46,575 youth have secured government jobs through 17 job fairs, marking a significant milestone in Odisha’s employment drive.
The majority of appointments were in the health sector, with 814 Medical Officers and 92 Assistant Professors joining service.
Administrative and financial services also saw fresh recruits, including 30 OAS, 42 ORS, 46 OFS, 60 OTAS, and 17 Cooperative Service officers.
Majhi emphasised that government jobs are a sacred duty, not merely employment.
He introduced a five‑point Pancha Sutri for officers: serve as janasevaks, uphold zero tolerance for corruption, maintain dignity of office, prioritise grievance redressal (Jana Sunani), and preserve a clean government image at the grassroots.
Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida urged officers to be role models, while Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari reminded them that the real test begins with service to the people.
In a parallel initiative, Odisha launched India’s first age‑wise mental health guidelines booklet, covering children to youth, prepared jointly by multiple departments.
Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling highlighted that new appointments will help bridge doctor shortages in rural and tribal areas.
The Nijukti Mela reflects the government’s push to fill vacancies swiftly while instilling a strong public‑service ethic among new officers.
