Odisha CM Majhi Marks Deendayal Upadhyaya’s 111th Jayanti with Welfare Push

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi commemorated the 111th birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya at Jayadev Bhawan, highlighting Integral Humanism and Antyodaya as guiding principles for Odisha’s governance.

Majhi emphasised that development must reach the “last person in society,” aligning Odisha’s welfare schemes with Upadhyaya’s vision.

He linked this philosophy to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s initiatives such as Ujjwala, Jan Dhan, Ayushman Bharat, and Make in India, which he said embody Antyodaya and self‑reliance.

Key Announcements

• Antyodaya Gruha Yojana: Rural housing for families excluded from central schemes.
• Deendayal Karmachari Nivas: Housing for industrial workers in key hubs.
• Mukhyamantri Annapurna Yojana: An extra 5 kg of rice free for 80% of the population.
• Women’s Welfare: Subhadra Yojana, Mukhyamantri Kanya Bibaha Yojana, and upcoming Kanya Sumangal Yojana (₹1 lakh support post‑graduation).
• Farmers: Samriddha Krishak Yojana, with 19 lakh cultivators receiving ₹3,100 for paddy.
• Investment: ₹22.50 lakh crore worth of proposals in the last 2 years and 3 months.

MLA Babu Singh and Dr Shiva Shakti Nath Bakshi also addressed the gathering, stressing Antyodaya as the guiding principle for public representatives and Integral Humanism as the most reliable path for nation‑building.

Majhi concluded that Odisha’s “double‑engine government” is committed to translating Upadhyaya’s ideals into tangible welfare schemes that uplift the marginalised.
