Odisha CM Majhi Flags Off Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign
Bhubaneswar, Odisha: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has officially launched the state‑wide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, urging citizens to hoist the national flag at their homes between August 9–15.
Inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call, the initiative aims to ignite patriotism and unity across Odisha.
Speaking at the launch, CM Majhi described the tricolour as India’s identity and pride, emphasising youth power as the driving force behind safeguarding the nation.
He highlighted India’s rise to the fourth‑largest economy and Odisha’s growing role in national development.
The campaign will see 60 lakh flags prepared by women’s self‑help groups and distributed across districts.
A state‑level Tiranga Rally is scheduled for August 9, alongside district‑level processions to encourage mass participation.
Deputy CMs KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida, Sports Minister Suryavanshi Suraj, Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari, BJP State President Manmohan Samal, and State In‑charge Vijay Singh Tomar were present at the launch.
Additionally, August 14 will be observed as Partition Horrors Remembrance Day at Jaydev Bhawan and across districts, with tributes and candlelight processions honouring families affected during partition.
CM Majhi appealed to citizens to participate enthusiastically, hoist the tricolour, and strengthen the spirit of national unity.
