Odisha CM Majhi Announces ₹4 Lakh Aid for Gas Leak Victims
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of Odia workers who lost their lives in the tragic gas leak at Periyapalayam in Tamil Nadu’s Tiruvallur district.
Expressing deep sorrow over the incident, the Chief Minister conveyed condolences to the bereaved families and wished speedy recovery for the injured.
He described the tragedy as “deeply distressing” and assured that the state government stands in solidarity with the victims.
The relief will be provided from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF). Odisha officials are coordinating with Tamil Nadu authorities to ensure medical care and logistical support.
Chief Secretary Anu Garg has already held discussions with her Tamil Nadu counterpart, while a three‑member Odisha team has reached Tiruvallur to oversee medical arrangements and extend necessary assistance.
