Odisha Achieves 94% Coverage in Voter List Revision Drive
Odisha has successfully completed its Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls, achieving 94% coverage across all 30 districts.
Conducted between May 30 and June 28, 2026, the drive mobilised over 45,000 Booth Level Officers (BLOs) and 4,500 supervisors, collecting 3.13 crore forms from 3.33 crore electors.
Political parties actively participated, deploying nearly 85,000 Booth Level Agents to assist in verification.
Special camps were organised to ensure inclusion of voters from remote and difficult areas, while BLOs received training and video tutorials for accurate data collection.
The draft electoral roll was published on July 5, 2026, and voters can verify their inclusion through BLOs, official websites, and the ECINET mobile app.
The claims and objections phase runs until August 4, 2026, allowing citizens to add names, correct entries, or object to ineligible voters.
Authorities have emphasised transparency and fairness, with documented orders required before deletions. District Collectors and the Chief Electoral Officer will act as appellate authorities.
The initiative aims to ensure accuracy and inclusivity, particularly for first-time voters turning 18 by July 1, 2026.
