Nuapada Police Crack Rice Truck Theft in Six Hours, Two Arrested

Nuapada police swiftly solved a major theft case involving a rice‑laden truck on May 25, 2026.

The vehicle, carrying 78 packets of rice (50 kg each), was stolen near Khariar Badapol.

The truck belonged to Kesinga businessman Sushil Jain, who promptly lodged a complaint at Khariar police station.

Acting on the FIR, Khariar police registered PS Case No. 171 under Section 303(2) BNS and formed a special team led by SI Arbind Meher under the supervision of Khariar IIC.

Within six hours, the team arrested Khirdhar Sagar (31) of Bongomunda, Bolangir, and Abinash Nayak (32) of Khariar, Nuapada.

The police recovered the stolen truck, all 78 rice bags, and a motorcycle used in the crime.

Both accused were produced before the JMFC Court, Khariar, on May 26, 2026.

The swift action drew praise from local residents and the business community, reinforcing public confidence in law enforcement efficiency.
