Nuapada Constable Arrested for ₹2 Lakh Job Fraud
Nuapada police have arrested constable Jogendra Bag (39) for allegedly cheating a local resident of ₹2 lakh by promising a government job.
According to police, the victim from Dangargaon under Sinapali police station lodged a complaint on September 11, 2026, stating that Bag had assured him of a job in exchange for money.
The complainant transferred the amount to Bag’s SBI account on January 21, 2026. Despite repeated requests, Bag neither arranged the job nor returned the money.
Police verified the transaction and found sufficient evidence of fraud.
A case was registered under Section 318(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Bag was arrested on September 12 at 2:10 pm and produced in court. Further investigation is underway.
