Nuapada: Bee Attack Sparks Panic, Five Injured

Nuapada witnessed chaos on Sunday morning when a sudden bee attack disrupted daily life in Khariar town’s College Square.

A tea seller and four others sustained multiple stings, forcing them to take shelter inside a tea stall for nearly two hours.

The swarm blocked traffic and created panic among locals, who hesitated to intervene.

The Khariar Fire Service was alerted and promptly arrived at the scene.

Firefighters used special techniques to disperse the bees and safely rescued those trapped inside.

The injured victims were rushed to Khariar Sub‑Divisional Hospital, where they received treatment and were later discharged after their condition improved.

This unexpected incident highlights the need for better preparedness in handling such natural hazards in crowded urban areas.
