NNKS Calls Odisha Bandh Over Textbook Errors on Sept 30

Bhubaneswar, Sept 25: The Naba Nirman Krushak Sangathan (NNKS) has announced a statewide bandh in Odisha on September 30, 2026, protesting against widespread errors in school textbooks for Classes I to VIII.

NNKS national coordinator Akshay Kumar stated that thousands of mistakes in newly published textbooks have compromised the quality of education and demanded accountability from the School and Mass Education Department.

The organisation has called for the resignation of the School and Mass Education Minister, holding the department responsible for the lapses.

The bandh call has drawn attention from opposition parties, educationists, and civil society groups, who have criticised the government for negligence in ensuring error‑free learning materials.

NNKS has appealed to the public across Odisha to support the bandh, emphasising that the issue directly affects the future of students.
