
Nine Aghori Babas Detained in Angul Over Alleged Kidnapping Attempt
Angul, Odisha — In a startling incident that has shaken the local community, nine Aghori babas, reportedly from Madhya Pradesh, were detained by villagers in Bhaliabeda, Angul district, on suspicion of attempting to abduct a schoolboy.
The alleged incident unfolded when two students from Bhaliabeda Government Upper Primary School stepped out to purchase pens. According to eyewitnesses, one of the boys was being pulled into a vehicle when the other raised an alarm.
The cries for help prompted swift action from nearby residents, who intercepted two vehicles carrying the babas and handed them over to Rengali police.
Jayanta Mohanty, Officer-in-Charge of Rengali Police Station, confirmed that the men are in custody and that a full-scale investigation is underway. “The exact circumstances are still under scrutiny,” he stated, adding that further details will emerge as the inquiry progresses.
The incident has sparked widespread concern among parents and school authorities, who are now demanding tighter security around educational institutions.
