Jeypore, Odisha – A sudden fire broke out late Thursday night at the Government College of Art and Crafts in Jeypore, causing significant damage to institutional property.
According to reports, the blaze is suspected to have been triggered by an electrical short circuit.
Principal Yudhisthir Mallick immediately alerted the fire services, and the Jeypore Fire Services team responded swiftly.
Their timely intervention prevented the flames from spreading to classrooms and administrative blocks.
Despite the quick containment, several computers, valuable equipment, and institutional materials were destroyed.
The financial loss is yet to be fully assessed.
