Mathili ITI to Host Odisha’s EV Excellence Centre

Odisha Industries, Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain laid the foundation stone for a Centre of Excellence in Electric Vehicle Technology at Government ITI, Mathili in Malkangiri district.

The centre, to be established at a cost of Rs 4.8 crore, aims to strengthen technical education and provide specialised training in electric vehicle technology.

Alongside this initiative, the minister inaugurated an Engineering Drawing Laboratory, an online classroom, and a conference hall, enhancing academic infrastructure at the institute.

Swain also chaired review meetings with principals and officials of Government ITI Mathili, Government ITI Malkangiri, and Malkangiri Government Polytechnic.

Discussions focused on upgrading training infrastructure, academic programs, and skill development initiatives.

During his visit, the minister assessed industrial activities in Malkangiri and directed officials to reinforce the district’s skill development network and industrial ecosystem.

Local MLAs Raghuraam Machha (Koraput) and Narasingha Madkami (Malkangiri) were present at the event, highlighting the political and developmental significance of the initiative.
