Khordha Schools Closed Amid Flood Alert Until July 31
Khordha district administration has ordered the closure of all schools from July 30 (1 PM) to July 31 in view of a flood alert.
The directive, issued by the District Project Office under Samagra Shiksha and signed by DEO‑cum‑DPC Smt.
Sonamika Ray, follows instructions from the Collector and District Magistrate.
The order applies to government, government‑aided, Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas (OAV), and private institutions.
Schools are instructed to serve mid‑day meals on July 30 before suspending classes.
Teachers and staff must remain present to assist with flood preparedness and relief coordination.
Headmasters have been directed to keep school buildings open round‑the‑clock for emergency shelter, ensuring sanitation and safety standards.
Block Education Officers will monitor compliance strictly, with lapses not tolerated.
Schools are expected to resume normal functioning from August 1, once conditions stabilise.
This move is part of a wider district‑level strategy to safeguard students and utilise school infrastructure for community support during the flood season.
