Jharsuguda, Odisha – A sudden whirlwind struck the BCGCL project inauguration site at Adhapara in Jharsuguda district on Saturday, June 21, 2026, moments before the scheduled ceremony.
The powerful gusts uprooted tents, damaged temporary structures, and scattered food stalls and electronic equipment, creating panic among those present.
Union Minister for Coal and Mines G. Kishan Reddy, Minister of State Satish Chandra Dubey, MP Pradeep Purohit, and IG Himanshu Kumar Lal were nearby when the incident occurred.
Fortunately, no injuries or casualties were reported, and the main inaugural stage remained intact.
