Infovalley Gunfight: Drug Mafia Injured in Bhubaneswar Encounter
Bhubaneswar: In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, Commissionerate Police engaged in an encounter near Infovalley that left notorious drug mafia operative Papun Majhi injured.
Acting on intelligence inputs, police intercepted Majhi, who allegedly opened fire while attempting to flee. Officers retaliated, resulting in a brief exchange of gunfire.
Majhi sustained bullet injuries to his right leg and was initially treated at Capital Hospital before being shifted to SCB Medical College for advanced care.
His condition is under medical supervision.
Police sources confirmed that Majhi has long been under the scanner for his involvement in organised narcotics operations across Odisha.
Investigations are underway to trace his network and dismantle the supply chain.
