Ganjam Village Mourns Loss in Russia‑Ukraine Conflict
Bhubaneswar: Tragedy struck Ganjam district as a young man from Madhabandha village, identified as A. Rameya, lost his life in a drone strike in Moscow amid the ongoing Russia‑Ukraine conflict.
Rameya had travelled to Russia about a month ago in search of work. News of his untimely death spread rapidly in his village, leaving the community in shock and grief.
Confirming the incident, Ganjam Collector Keerthi Vasan V stated that the district administration is coordinating with the Indian Embassy to facilitate the repatriation of Rameya’s mortal remains to Odisha.
The incident has highlighted the risks faced by migrant workers abroad and has cast a pall of sorrow over the region.
